Hello, my name is Dennis Bilginer, and I am a Senior at Washington State University majoring in Environmental & Ecosystem Sciences with an emphasis on Climate Change. I took SOE 300 back in the spring of 2021 and thoroughly enjoyed learning from Dr. Bill, so saying I’m stoked to TA this class would be an understatement. After Graduation, I plan to pursue a master’s degree studying climate change somewhere in Northern Europe.
My love for the Environment wasn’t realized until I moved to Turkey for a year in Middle School. After becoming fluent in Turkish after three months, my dad took me out of school, and we just traveled around Turkey and Europe for the rest of the Year. Experiencing such diverse environments all around Europe for a year made me truly appreciate all we have in Washington and, through reflection, sparked a love for the natural world.
My Junior year was spent in Copenhagen, Denmark studying all things Climate Change, from understanding past, present, and future climate change through climate proxy analysis to understanding the environmental impact of Karl Marx to understanding food systems. My passion for understanding climate change sparked a fascination with the last ice age, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with any Glacier, Interglacial, or D-O event questions.
