Hello everyone! My name is Ashlyne Olson and I am a “somewhat senior” (I am tacking on and additional semester to my undergradutate degree to finish my minor), majoring in Animal Sciences with a minor in Wildlife Ecology. Originally, I came to Pullman with the intent to secure a seat in veterinary school, but as fate would have it I ended up finding greater passions elsewhere, specifically concerning a career in wildlife! Currently, I am building my skillset by working in agricultural animal disease research on campus, but in the future I hope to find opportunities directly concerning wildlife.

From the time I was a child I have been fascinated by animals and all their quirks and intricacies, and my appreciation and interest has not wavered since. This love for animals is my driving force in almost everything I do, and ultimately led me to where I am today! My ideal career in this field would be to work as a wildlife or rangeland biologist studying the impacts of U.S. feral mustang populations, but I know I would be happy working anywhere that would see me studying animals in a meaningful and positively impactful way.

In my spare time I maintain my sanity through horseback riding, painting, tending to countless houseplants, and spending quality time with my two rambunctious cats.

This class is an amazing opportunity for you all to not only expand your knowledge in topics regarding resource ecology, but also build your repertoire as a writer, become familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel functions, and make great connections with your fellow students! My operating system is Windows 10, so to you Windows users I hope I can be a resource for any technical difficulties you may encounter. Dr. Bill and us T.A.s will be here to help you every step of the way, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance![Text Wrapping Break]
